Workplace Violence Prevention (Certified, English language) (mandated for CA) (PD0924-B2C)

Description

The "Workplace Violence Prevention" course provides training aimed at protecting employees by helping them recognize, avoid, and appropriately respond to violence, threats, and harassment. Training on these topics is mandatory in California.

According to a report by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in 2021, workplace violence resulted in 761 fatalities and 2.6 million injuries in the U.S. Of these, 85% of the deaths were caused by robberies.

In 2020, workplace violence caused 20,050 injuries and 392 fatalities, with more than half (53%) of these incidents involving individuals known to the victims, such as coworkers or clients.

Such incidents are estimated to cost U.S. businesses $250 to $330 billion annually due to decreased productivity, legal expenses, and medical costs.

This course emphasizes the importance of recognizing risks, techniques for preventing escalation, and encouraging the prompt reporting of potential incidents or threats, all to promote a safe working environment.
